Allow me to rank/score certain paths programmatically
Your service would be 1000% more useful to me if I could rank (w/ an async JS call) the videos that I want to watch. For instance, all sessions are recorded, but I don't necessarily want to watch all videos. So, let's say a user is filling out a form, and they trigger some client-side validation errors, give me the ability to ping your JS beacon with a score between 1-10. Then when I log into your service, allow me to sort paths by rank. Some paths will be more valuable for me to watch, just allow me to tell…

Prevent mouseflow showing up in google analytics
For some reason, under 'search keywords' in google analytics, 'mouseflow' comes up a lot after playing back videos. Can this be prevented?

verify code installed more quickly
Running out of patience waiting on verification..should be persistently checking for first few minutes..most of us are fast enough to get it installed right away.
3 votesHi,
There shouldn’t be any waiting time for verifying that the code works.

ip anonymization
in some countries it is illegal to store a visitors ip address without first asking for permission. if there was a function like the google analytics anonymizeIP() that stores the ip in an anonymized form (e.g. without the last part), mouseflow could be used legally in these countries.

Add filtering by path option
It would be great if you had an option to filter which pages to record or which areas to record, for example /blog/* since in some CMSs it is hard to insert your code only on some pages and not on others.
3 votesHi,
This is possible by surrounding your tracking code with some additional JavaScript.
See below:
if (location.pathname.indexOf(‘blog’) > -1)
// paste tracking code here
}This will cause the code to only run on pages that have “blog” in the URL.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Trent

Save the session identifier for each recording
When a user visits my website, I want to know the Mouseflow session identifier for him.
I mean, the XXXX in
http://mouseflow.com/my-account/recordings/play?session=XXXXThis way I can link in my platform each user with his recordings.
I would need something like,
document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https" : "http") + "://a.mouseflow.com/projects/EEEEE.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));
var id = mouseflow.getSession();Then I would save that 'id' in the user session and persist it, and then link it to his recordings.
3 votesHi,
This can be obtained like this:
var id = recording.sessionId;

Navigate thru site while in each map.
When in the heatmaps or scroll map, be able to navigate through the site instead of having to go back to the page analysis to choose a new page. it would save a lot of time.

Fix heatmap skewing
Right now, it seems in the mouse movement heatmap shades areas based on aggregate attention rather than how it relates to the other elements/areas.
What this does is the longer the time period you look at, the more areas that will be closer to the max attention (shaded white). The heatmaps have no benefit if everything starts turning white. You want to look at longer time periods so you have enough page views to rule out randomness.
To remedy this the shading should be based on how a specific areas relates to another area (in regards to attention or clicks,…

Support referrer
Our site performs referrer - based redirect and Mouseflow can't follow user most probably because it does not send referrer to the server.
3 votesHi,
If you use the session support method then you’ll get the exact HTML that the users see, so there’s no real need for this specific feature. Moreover it would create side effects on your webserver.

dispaly the hour of the visit
is not really useful to display 20 minutes ago or 1 day ago in the activities. It could be bettere to have the hour, in this way we can compare it with statistic software...
3 votesIf you hover the mouse over the “xx minutes ago”, you’ll see the exact time. If you extract the data from our API you’ll also get the exact time.

Filter by visited page.
I used at ClickTale the feature where you can filter by a page someone visited during their visit, rather than just being able to filter on Entry Page, I would like to filter based on 'User visted Basket.html at some point in their visit'.
3 votesHi James,
This is possible if you go to Recordings > Single Pages and set the “Page” filter.
This will let you pick a certain page that must be present during the scope of a session.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Trent

Send recordings to other users
It should be possible to send a link for a recording to other users in the same account. So they can get the link for the recording in their email with a little comment.
We have several users not located together so this feature would help us alot.

remove or filter my own recordings
i visit my own site a lot during development - how can i filter my own visits so they don't interfere with heatmaps and statistics and everything else?

Sorting and filtering on exit page
At the moment it's possible to filter on "Entry page" in the "Recordings" section but what I would really like to see, is the exit pages.
If I can sort on exit pages, I would be able to see which pages the user last saw - and thereby learn, which page did or did not answer the user's needs.
This would of course be interesting both with regards to heatmaps but also recordings, since watching a session of what a user has tried before he exited on that particular page would reveal the reasons for the exit rate of this…
3 votesThis can be done. Switch to Single Pages view and select “Exit page” in the page position selector. In the page selector, choose the page you want to search for.

nice url merging
Hi, I want to ask you where did you plan to do, new funkcionality of merging nice URL. If we are using for example URL: www.obrazynamiru.cz/search/dog we can not merge search page. We paid the mouseflow for one month, but without this function we probably will not use it in next time... Thanks

exclude directory
Could there be a function to exclude a directory, e.g. on my domain I could exclude sections of the site based on directory names, I am running out of credits as whole site has a common/template footer but there are directories I do not need data for

Movement map based on DOM elements, not position of page
Movement heatmaps should render the data points relative to the DOM elements.
current implementation will not work for us as a lot of our pages that we would like to use mouseflow on will not have their data in the same relative position (for example: some pages would have certain data missing vs. others)
2 votesThis request has now been completed. The heatspots in the movement map are now rendered relative to the DOM elements.
