Recording Notes
When we are watching the recording we need to refer that recording in future for further analysis or improvements. If there would be a possibility to add notes in front of each recording, it would be helpful to share the observations with our team also.

add filter by referrer
Add ability not to record(or record only from) visitors from defined sites.

List the exact time of recording as well as 'x days ago'
I have a purchase that was made at a specific date and time. It's impossible to find the matching recording as all you show is '3 days ago'. I have to sift through a whole day of recordings to find it.
10 votesYou can hover the mouse over the “3 days ago” text to see the exact date and time.

Filter by certain time during the day
Sometimes I want to find specific recordings when a certain bug appeared for the first time or we received customer feedback. With several thousands of recordings, it takes a long time to navigate to the ones in e.g. the morning.
9 votesThis requst is now completed. We’ve introduced the option to choose to add time marks in our date range picker.

add a "Sort by" function
Is it possible to add a "sort by" function at the "Recordings" overview page? This could be really useful for us (and probably more customers) when we have a lot of recordings. In this way we can have a look at specific click paths.
In my opinion a sort function would need this options:
- Sort by Pages
- Sort by Duration
- Sort by Activity (it is already sorted like this, but with more options we obviously need this option to click)8 votesThis feature is now availabe in our new user interface: https://app.mouseflow.com/sign-in

Display IP & Ability to Search by IP Address
With this feature available, it becomes much easier for any site owner to understand the behavior of the users who are leaving their cart after adding items in them. Also, knowing IP address also makes it easy to study the browsing patter of purchasers and gives site owner further input on what is working on the site and what is not.
8 votesYou can now search search the list of recordings for particular IPs. It’s also possible toas well as see what IP belongs to a particular recording by hovering the flag in the left menu.

Exclude certain user behaviors/segments from tracking
We need a way to exclude certain clicks and users who have performed such clicks from recording/tracking.
Over 50% of our website visitors just use our page to perform a login. This fact distorts all heatmaps, because these 50% never scroll and always click on the same link ("login"). Especially the click heatmap shows a bright white area on the login button and everything else ist just lightly blue.
In Google Analytics we achieved this with a custom event "performed login" and by then segmenting out the users who performed a login - a similar feature for mouseflow would be…
6 votesUsing our Custom Variables feature, you can now set a custom event like this and use it to filter your recordings.

Allow blocking of own IP or Browser
Whilst developing a website, you view it often.... and often run up several recordings of an hour plus... If there was a block Individual IP feature, or browser plugin to prevent recording from owner.... that would be great!!
6 votesThis is possible, click “Edit Website” and see the field “Exclude IP addresses”

copy IP to clipboard
It is really annoying that one cannot copy a URL of a visitor to the clipboard. Because it is only shown in a non selectable popup one has to write down by hand the IP if he wants to further evaluate on it. It should be at least possible to select and copy it. Nice would be a link to http://ipinfodb.com/ip_locator.php?ip=114.53.201.186
6 votesIt’s now possible to select and copy the IP shown in the pop-up.

Is it possible to make "skip pause" checkbox by enabled by default.
I find that I keep clicking it every time when I watch a new video so it would be helpful if it was enabled by default

calculate the heatmap and
Right now I need to wait one day until the heat maps become available. It would be awesome to have these instantly. Some sites have enough traffic to fill a free account in minutes ;-)

Cap a certain number of recordings for tests purposes
It would be very useful to have the possibility to cap a certain number of recordings for tests purposes.
Let's say I made some modifications on a page and I want to see their impact on the visitors' behaviour. I do not need to record a lot of visits for that. I would just need maybe a sample of 10 or 15 visits.
It would be nice to limit the test to that number of visits. When the goal is reached, the recordings would automatically be paused.5 votesThis feature has now been completed with the release of our new ‘Recording Limit Per Website’-feature :-)

Reverse DNS Lookup
Would it be possible to add a reverse DNS lookup as well as the initial results which are displayed so its possible to determine which domain or company a potential user arrived from?
Eg: If we went to a website it would display the IP address 209.85.147.105 with a reverse DNS lookup if the company has one it would display Google.com which would allow us to determine if a visitor is coming to our website from a local area, due to an event we held etc?
5 votesThis suggestion has been added to our recording list. You can now hover the flag next to the recording to see exact user information. You can also search the recording list for this information.

I would like to be able to exclude (own) IP
Mouseflow records my own browsing and editing, polluting user stats. Would be nice to be able to exclude. Maybe just as a filter on reports " exclude IP's:".
4 votesHi Jesper,
You’ll be happy to know that we already offer this feature. You can block any IP you wish from your account dashboard. See this article for the full details:
